In March of 2025 I went to a fundraiser at Dual Citizen Brewing in Minneapolis. It was a goldsprint tourney to raise money for the Minnesota Cycling Federation. There were three goldsprint events that Spring and lots of participants, but one Insta Reel featuring me took off. It had like 15 million views in the first weekend, got posted and reposted to other accounts on Instagram, YouTube, even allegedly Pinterest.

The original post had no narration, no story. Every repost got a bit wilder. Before too long I was a secret pro hipster that went to the tourney just to light up the local scene. In reality, just about everyone there knew each other. I’m very much an amateur and had been around the local race scene for years, no one was wondering “who is that guy?” And the guy I raced was only in a kit because he actually biked to the event, which is the way to go. I was in street clothes because I drove there from my daughter’s swim practice. So anyway, I’ve never experienced a viral moment like this, it was fun, the other guy got more heat from Internet than he should have, so I wanna set an accurate narrative.

By the Numbers

Trying to quantify what actually happened. The reposts to Instagram are mostly “not available” now, maybe they were Stories or privacy settings changed? Idk, looking through my past messages there were Reels or Stories reposted to accounts like @houseofhighlights and @WEDU, a media account founded by Lance Armstrong. So those had lots of hits too, but they’re unavailable now. What I got is the original and the YouTube reposts. Recon for counts below done on Oct 2, 2026.

Original Instagram reel (Mar 27, 2025) 29.1M 760K 766 instagram
FitBlips YouTube Short (Mar 30, 2025) 39.9M 576K 672 youtube
The other 18 YouTube reposts I found, combined 545K     table below

That’s about 69M views between the original and the first repost. The other 18 reposts together add up to a fraction of the FitBlips short, but they keep coming: 12 of the 19 were posted in 2026, 8 in the last few months.

Instagram only shows the view count on the profile's Reels grid, not on the post itself. 29.1M.
The original post. 760K likes, 766 comments, 475 reposts. The caption is an ad for the next goldsprints night.

It’s Resurging

A search found 19 reposts, recuts, and re-narrations on YouTube alone. One per square, by the month it was posted. The surprising thing to me is there’s more reposts in 2026 than there were in 2025. Or maybe more likely, that could also be because new uploads are easier to find in a search, 2025 reposts are maybe just lost to time, I didn’t keep an index.

Unit chart of YouTube reposts by month, March 2025 to October 2026
This is only what I could find searching YouTube, so a floor, real count is higher. Recent uploads are probably easier to find than old or deleted ones.

The Story Gets Better with Every Repost

The original caption just advertises the next goldsprints night. The narration started three days later, and has ever escalated. Oldest first, as of Oct 2, 2026. I know none of these ppl, and they clearly don’t know me either .

Thumbnails of all 19 YouTube reposts, oldest first. Same two guys, same 500-unit dial, different subtitles.

Just about two of the thumbnails (Tetiuwpaw and axsel) carry an “SC: @indigoclipless” source credit. A comment from the FitBlips account also credits the original: “Credit: 📸 @indigoclipless”. It was indeed @indigoclipless.

The Comments

Yanking out some of the entertaining commentary. From the FitBlips short. Some of it occasionally actually brings the narrative back to reality.

My man’s wearing 13 earth tone colors, full beard, glasses, a locomotive engineers hat and 66 PBR’s down before he rolled in. Why would you go toe to toe with that cat?
